Clean up your Right Click Menu

This is a handy light weight application to clean up the right click function in Windows. This is really nice for things that sneak onto your context menu that you never use and a good way to only show the ones that matter.

Change Default Theme in phpMyAdmin

Well this one would drive me nuts every time I tried to change the theme in phpMyAdmin I would log out and log in and then it would change back to the default. Then I tried deleting the original theme and only having the one I wanted in the theme folder but unfortuantly that didn’t do anything except screw things up really bad.

So searching around the net I found the variable you need to declare in the config.inc.php file to set the default theme. It is pretty simple but figured I would post the code here so that I can find it again if I need to.

$cfg['ThemeDefault']= ‘THEME NAME’;

Well not too sure that anyone will ever use this but something interesting that I found on the net none the less it is a whole bunch of clipart pictures that fall under the CC copywrite laws.

So tonight Laura needed to convert a WAV file to an MP3 file because she needed to send the file via email. Well the WAV file was about 23mb while the mp3 came down to 2.5mb. This application which is an open source application will convert any audio file type to mp3, ogg, FLAC and any other encoders you want to add. This is a great utility to have. It will also rip CD’s to that format.

Wordpress Theme Directory

Looks like Wordpress now has their own theme directory which is nice while searching for a new theme. I typically change themes once a year but I am currently in search of one for my ARP website. I have been jumping through a few of my old websites and following the links on the bottom of links that I have used in the past. Themes are funny because it is really had to find one that fits exactly what you are looking for. Plus after picking one you have to spend about 2 days getting it to look how you want and probably play with some tags and then re-enable Ajax settings so its a commitment to change.

NextGen Gallery Short Codes

Looks like NextGen Gallery is changing their short codes to display their galleries and such. I think that this is probably one of the best plugins for Wordpress that I use. See the change of the codes below. Looks like the old codes will still be valid but you should switch to the new ones as new functionality will be based on these shortcodes. Sounds to me like there might need to be a SQL statement to update those codes I need to write.

ImgBurn CD Burner Software

I am always on the search for the best utilities for basic computer needs. This one came up as the best free CD burning software via LifeHacker. It does everything that you need it to and has a super clean easy interface. I like this one because the last free burner software I was using didn’t allow you to burn from an ISO image which was a huge pain in the butt.
